Fair warning first: we are YourCarGarage, so this is our view. We have tried to keep it accurate and balanced, and we will happily give Fixter credit where it is due. Both services aim to make car servicing and repairs easier, but they go about it in very different ways.
Fixter is a collection-and-delivery concierge. A driver collects your car, takes it to one of Fixter’s vetted partner garages, and returns it to you. YourCarGarage is simpler and more hands-off for us: you compare local garages, read their Google reviews, and send a booking request to the one you like. There is no middleman doing the work for you, and there is no payment through us.

Two different models
Fixter takes the whole job off your hands. You book online, get a fixed price quote from your registration and postcode, and a fully insured Fixter driver collects the car, takes it to a partner garage, and brings it back once the work is done. Payment goes through Fixter, with your card charged only after the agreed work is completed and approved, and bookings come with a warranty on parts and labour.
YourCarGarage keeps you in control. You compare local garages, look at their Google reviews, and send a booking request straight to the one you pick. The garage contacts you, does the work, and you pay them directly. Nothing goes through us, and the garage keeps you as their customer.
Where they differ
The biggest difference is convenience versus choice. Fixter is brilliant if you are busy, do not want to leave the house, or would rather someone else handle the whole thing, and the collection-and-delivery service is a genuine strength. The trade-off is that Fixter chooses the partner garage and sits between you and it.
YourCarGarage puts the choice and the relationship in your hands. You decide which local garage to use, you deal with them directly, and you build a relationship with a garage you can go back to. There is no collection service, so you drop the car off yourself, but you are never paying a platform on top of the garage.
Which should you use?
If you value doorstep convenience and a fixed online price above all else, Fixter delivers that, with collection and delivery taken off your hands. Just note the platform picks the partner garage and takes the payment.
